Go to the link https://www.dropbox.com/developers/apps and log in to your account. Click on the “My apps” tab on the right-hand menu followed by the “Create app” button on the right side.
On clicking the button you will be redirected to another page where you would be asked to “Choose an API” for which you would choose the option “Scoped access” which will be followed by “Choose the type of access you need” for which you would choose the option “App Folder” followed by a name for your App eg – “Scrape data”.
On the next page, you would need to set permissions before generating an access token. Click on “Permissions”.
In Permissions, you would need to select files.content.write
and files.content.read
which are listed under Files and Folders, and click on submit.
After setting permissions, go back to Settings and scroll a little down to select “Access token expiration”. Select ‘No expiration’ from the dropdown. After that click on the button “Generate” to generate an access token. It will then show you an alphanumeric access token which you would need to share with us.
We would need the access token and not a shared folder to do this successfully.
Please note that Dropbox currently provides only 1 GB of free storage hence if the limit is reached we will not be able to upload the latest data. We would advise that you empty the Dropbox after the data has been used by you to ensure a steady upload of data.
Thanks.
