Amazon and Walmart finding Rival Bidders
Amazons purchase of Whole Foods will make the two almost directly competitive in the grocery business for the first time. Amazon has been trying to dominate the grocery business, even though Walmart has the biggest share in the market, holding 14.5% of U.S food and grocery sales.
Walmart is equally competitive as well, with the purchases of e-Commerce companies ModCloth and Bonobos.
Significant Changes Over the Past Month
Walmart has increased their number of products by 1.7 million over the previous month. Amazon, on the other hand, has a rise in products by 4.2 million, which is quite lower than usual regarding its broad product portfolio.
