The Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented impact on people globally. It has also impacted the number of stores that are open or temporarily closed during this period.
Some of the companies have updated this data and some companies have not. This is all understandable because everyone is dealing with this crisis based on their immediate priorities.
The situation is also exacerbated due to the patchwork of local and state level closures for certain businesses with no cohesive national process in the US. Some companies have closed all stores.
Due to the inconsistencies in the available data, we have decided to “freeze” the data collection for stores which have shown significant decreases in store counts over the past few weeks.
This is the most consistent approach we could see based on the available data and the chaos in the retail world.
Please look at the date each dataset was updated on how “old” the data is. We usually update the data every week, so if you see a store with data updated 2 or 3 weeks back, that means that data is frozen in time.
If you need the latest data (which may include all temporary closures) we may have that for most companies that have updated that data.
It is not available on our store, but we can get it for you. Please contact us to get that data.
Thank you for your business and stay safe.
